Successful Nov 30 class..

Nov 30 students reviewed criteria for 6th kyu. They did well. Only a couple of things to fine tune. THe 6th kyu test will be held in Jan/17. Some students will do a 6th kyu Part 1 of 2 test and will do 6th kyu Part 2 a month later. Some will be ready to do all the 6th kyu test. In late spring 2017 some students will be ready to do the 5th kyu (yellow) test. Some will test for 5th kyu Part 1 and later do Part 2. In this way progress will be monitored.

Reminder ...next friday is the start of our local seminar. Friday class starts at 6:15-730
Saturday Nov 19 there is a kids class at 9:20 -10:20 ..after that there are 4 one hour regular classes ...hope to see you there

Upcoming aikido ...

On November 18-19 there is a weekend of aikido scheduled at Bishop Field. Saturday morning (19th) there will be a children's class at 9:20 for one hour. Feel free to come by for others to watch or take part!

October Classes at BF.

Classes continue at BF tomorrow wednesday .... the group that are practising for a 2nd year is really helping the new students! .. basics are easier to practise when several around you know what to do! Just help each other !
Students - come to gym after school. You can help put mats down and get ready for practise. Class finishes at 4 but then a few minutes are needed to put mats away.

September 28 class at Bishop Field

Another good large class. Practised basic moves- how to fall safely, hamni positions, irimi movement. All good!

Aikido masters..

Just google Yamada Sensei and aikido, Kanai Sensei, Chiba Sensei... these masters led the way for aikido development in North America ...there are others ..will continue to write about more "teachers" and events ..

Aikido at Bishop Field is starting up on wednesday Sept 21/16. THe practises will run for 5 weeks, Sept 21 until Oct 19. Then 2 week break and start-up again on Wednesday Nov 9/16. ...Open to Gr 2-5.
